One of my all-time, favorite drinks is a Chocolate Cola. I know it may sound strange to some people, but believe me, it is delicious! I have gotten many strange looks when I’ve ordered one at a restaurant or when I’ve told others about the fabulous drink. All it is, is chocolate syrup mixed with cola. It is no different than a vanilla cola or a cherry cola in my mind (both of which I also love).
I have grown up drinking colas with chocolate. You can often order these at diner-type or soda fountain restaurants. You can also make them right at home very easily. I like to make these on the weekend for Jon and myself, or as a Friday treat while working to reward myself for making it through another work-week.
If you’d really like to shake things up, try a chocolate-cherry cola: So GOOD!
Ingredients:
2 tbsp chocolate syrup
12 oz can cola (or cherry cola)
4-6 ice cubes (optional)
In a 16oz or 20oz drinking glass, pour in the chocolate syrup.
Next, slowly pour the cola on top of the chocolate syrup. Stir the chocolate cola mixture. I use a butter knife to stir, so I can scrape the chocolate down on the sides of the glass so to incorporate it better. The drink will really bubble up, so having lots of extra room in the glass is helpful.
Add in the ice cubes. Serve with a straw and enjoy!
