Steak ‘n Shake Chili Casserole…doesn’t that sound comforting? Ever since moving to South Carolina, we have missed having a Steak ‘n Shake nearby. We found that we could buy Steak ‘n Shake Chili from the grocery store! We were so excited to have found it! It is now a staple in our food pantry, always having about two cans on hand.
Within the past year, a neighboring town opened a Steak ‘n Shake restaurant! We were so exited, but being that it is about a 30 minute drive for us, we’ve only gone once since they’ve opened. We continue to buy their chili from the grocery store.
Here’s something you may not have known about Jon. He used to work at a Steak ‘n Shake while he was in college. He had never had their chili from Steak ‘n Shake while he worked there. I was hoping he would have some super secret recipes that we could work on at home, but sadly, no. He can however, make a pretty mean milkshake.
Get ready, we’re about to turn these average cans of Steak ‘n Shake Chili into Steak ‘n’ Shake Chili Casserole!

3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
½ cup chopped onion
1 and 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Yield: 6 servings
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a skillet, on medium heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through. Cook the pasta according to box instructions. Drain the water from the pasta.
Spray a 3 quart casserole dish with baking spray. Layer the bottom of the dish with the cooked pasta. Next, pour in each can of Steak ‘n Shake Chili over the pasta, stir to combine. Sprinkle the ground beef on top of the chili. Pour the beef broth over the top. Sprinkle the chopped onion evenly over the top.
Mix together the ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. Spoon the sauce mixture over the top of the casserole. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake on 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes. Once the baking is complete, remove the casserole from the oven, and allow to cool and set for 10 minutes. Use caution when removing from the oven, the dish will be extremely hot; use your oven mitts!
Serve the Steak ‘n Shake Chili Casserole in a bowl, eat, and enjoy! Top with extra ketchup if desired.
This sounds absolutely delicious. Thanks for posting this recipe.
